November Update

We left American RV Resort in Albuquerque, NM and headed to Quiet and Pieceful RV Park in Waterflow, NM.  Nice little park that held us over until we went to Monument Valley KOA.  What a beautiful area that pictures just do not do it justice.  We really enjoyed the area.  Of course we were traveling with Gary and Mary Olson!

Next we went to Blanding, UT and stayed at Blue Mountain RV Park.  A nice park and a good place to visit the local National Parks.  Keeping what park we are showing and when is hard to keep straight, but I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We also went to Moab Rim RV Park in Moab and, of course, toured the sites.  Even going down 1400' in elevation in Gary's jeep on a very curvy road, that was also narrow.  But it was exciting.  We had a good time traveling with Gary and Mary!

This is the road we took down in Gary's jeep.  Some times a little scary!

I know this is  a little off on where and when, but you get the picture.  When we left the Moab area, we headed to Lake Mead in Las Vegas, NV to attend the Lucky 7 RV Tiffin group rally.  Nice to meet  new people with like interests.  The lake is REALLY down, but it is NOT empty.

Today we left Lake Mead Recreational area and are now at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort.  This is probably the fanciest RV Resort we have ever been in.  Really nice place, but the sites are still a little narrow, but sure has nice amenities.  We are here as the kids are coming tomorrow evening to visit for about 8 days.  We are REALLY looking forward to seeing them.  I will post pictures of this place on my next post.
I know this have been a really rambling post, but we have been SO MANY PLACES it is just hard to keep them straight.
Y'all travel safe, and I'll type more later.

October Update

We enjoyed the COE Park in Waco, TX.  Our stay was nice and  we stayed there until the eleventh of September.  There were full hook up sites there and our only complaint was the Walnut trees dropping their nuts on our rig.  We did have to move after most of our stay into another site as we could not get the same site reservations for our entire stay.  When we moved, we were no longer under the Walnut tree and, I could get satellite.

Next we headed to Dyess Air Force Base and their FamCamp!  We checked in there on the 11th and stayed until 18th.  This is a fairly nice FamCamp and we did enjoy our stay.  I must say this base has the Best static display of aircraft I have seen.

Next we went to "The Ranch", an Escapees Co Op park in Lakewood, NM.  We appreciated the hospitality from the folks there and while we were there we were able to visit the UFO Museum in Roswell, NM and we visited Carlsbad Caverns in Carlsbad, NM.

We left the Ranch on the 27th and drove to Holiday KOA in Bernalillo, NM, just north of Albuquerque, NM.  We met up with Gary and Mary Olsen before we went into the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta as Co-Hosts for the Escapee HOP.  The KOA was an OK campground, but, as usual, over priced and my satellite dish pointed to the tree next to our site.  When we left, the tree next to our site was very misplaced and in a VERY BAD place.  We had an empty site in front of us, so I went through that site to get out.

On the 1st of October we went into the Balloon Fiesta Fairgrounds.  We had our challenges, but we were able to work them all out and got spaces for all of our attendees.  We really had a good time watching the balloons and would highly recommend attending the fiesta.  I'm sure you would enjoy it as much as Debby and I did.

We moved from the fairgrounds today to American RV Resort.  Nice campground and we will be here until the 19th.   I'll add pictures of this place nest blog.

Travel safe, and I'll type more later!

September Update

We enjoyed our month volunteering at C.A.R.E.  This is an independent living facility for Escapee members who are ready to come off the road or just recooperate from a medical issue.  We volunteered there last September and decided to volunteer in August this year.  They have trouble getting volunteers in July, August and September due to the extream heat in Texas during those months.  If you are ever in the Livingston, TX area, take a tour of C.A.R.E. and if so moved, fill out the paperwork to become a volunteer.  They would want you to volunteer for at least one month.  While there, they had a Luau for the residents and we volunteers through a Moroccan night.  I think the residents enjoyed them both.

There have been changes in some of the residents since we were there last year.  Some have departed and new ones have arrived.  It was certainly an enjoyable month.  We plan on returning to volunteer again next year, probably on our way back to Florida.

We left C.A.R.E. on Tuesday, 4 September and have arrived at Midway COE RV Park in Waco, TX.  We will be staying here for a week and then continue heading to the Balloon Fiesta.
