After we did our 3 leg tour of the Grand Canyon, the next morning we went to Bearazona! What a fun place if you like animals. Daughter is really into animals and she had a GREAT time. We took a few pictures, and I think the high light of the day were the new bear cubs.
This is a fairly new 169 acre park that is only 5 years old. I think this is a must see for anyone going to the Williams, AZ area. After our visit to Bearazona, the kids went off for a 600 + mile trip of their own. They hit 4 corners, lots of route 66 things and lots of scenic hi ways. while they did that, Debby and I moved to Verde Valley Thousand Trails in Cottonwood, AZ. This is a nice park, however, a lot of the sites have lots of front yard, and NO BACK AT ALL. Right up against the neighbors unit. To make it worse, our neighbor is an annual lease holder (it appears) and they store A LOT of STUFF around their rig. I think it detracts from the beauty of the park.
Since we have been here, we went to Montezumas Well, Montezumas Castle followed by Tuzigoot ruins, all National Monuments, so our entry was free due to my seniors pass. I highly recommend them all.
Once we left Tuzigoot ruins, we drove through Sedona. What a beautiful area! After which we took the scenic route to Prescott to take the kids to their first visit to an In N Out burger. Daughter did not participate, but Son enjoyed a triple triple animal style.
Yesterday, we relaxed and looked at the 1000's of pictures taken by the kids. Today they drove off early to catch their plan back to Jacksonville. They texted us to let us know that they have loaded and are awaiting take off. I'm sure they will let us know when they arrive safely.
Debby and I will be planning our next leg of our journey. We will be heading to Utah next, followed by Mt. Rushmore. For now, we will relax a bit and make reservations as we are approaching the July 4th holiday. We want to make sure we have a place to park for that week.
Y'all travel safe, and I'll type more later.
