After Cruise Update

Well, we went to NAS Fallon, NV to their RV Park.  What a disappointment.  $35 per night and it was ok, but, in my mind, not worth the money, although the local RV parks were even a little higher.  The exchange was nothing to brag about, very small, as was the commissary.  Not many improvements since I was there when the filmed Top Gun.  We will probably not go back there, as it is really not on the way to anywhere.

We left NAS Fallon on May 2 and headed for Beale AFB which has a much nicer Fam Camp.  It is the old mobile home park.  They did not make all of the old mobile home park the Fam Camp, so they have about 48 more sites they could make.  We enjoyed our stay there, except we could not get all of the satellites from DISH, so we could not get the local channels, so on the programs we really wanted to see the season ending episodes, we went to the club house.  When we got there, there was a man in there who was trying to use the TV, but when we walked in, he said there is the remote and he left.  He had the TV system ALL SCREWED up.  Debby and I got it to work, but we had to read the directions.  We did go out into town, but did not do much.  Like NAS Fallon and Nellis AFB, construction at the gate made it difficult.

This is the first place we would see Rolls Royces.  This guy had 2.

Next we went to Yreka RV Park in Yreka, CA.  We spent a couple of days here, but did not do much looking around.

We next headed to Rice Hill RV Park in Oakland, OR.  Another nice park that we only spent a couple of days.  Oregon seems to like rain, as we has rain (mostly light) every day we were in Oregon.

Next we headed to 99 RV Park.  It is named that because it is on Hwy 99.  in Vancover, WA.  This has a lot of long term residents in it.  Fairly nice campground with pull thru's, but I had to disconnect to get into the site anyway as the turn into the site was Way to sharp.  As we were going to disconnect anyway, it was not a big deal.  We did some site seeing while there and went to the Oregon coast to see the Pacific surf pound the rocks.

We next headed to Ft. Lewis Fam Camp on Joint Military Base Lewis/McChord.  They advertise as "big rig friendly", and the sites are, but to get to those sites is NOT.  Very sharp turns that was difficult to get around even without our car hooked up.  Heavy trees made for NO satellite, but, they offer cable, with a cable box.  No charge for that.  We were able to see Erain Garcia, Vic and Barb's daughter while we were there and she was nice enough to spend a lot of time with us.  We got to visit with here every day we were there.  We got so see her daughter and meet her husband.  It was a really nice visit.  The Tacoma area was really nice.

We next headed to Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell, WA to stay for a couple of days before the Alaskan Cruise.  Very nice park, as it should be for $44 per night.  ALWAY full as they offer storage with 115 v power for $3 per night  We stored our home here while on the cruise.

Next we put the house in storage and went on the Alaskan Cruise on Explorer of the Seas.  A beautiful luxury liner. This was Debby and my first cruise (the naval cruises do not count, nor does the one day gambling cruise nor dinner cruises).  We enjoyed it VERY MUCH and look forward to our next cruise.  We visited Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Ann Fjord and Victoria, BC.  I have LOTS of pictures, but just do not have the data available to up load them all.  here are just a couple.

We are now back at Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell, WA.  Headed toward Yellowstone and pick up the kids.  A big thank you goes out to Rick and Louise for allowing us to join them on the "Singing Sams" Cruise.  We really had a GREAT TIME!   Leaving tomorrow and will pick  up the kids on the 9th when they fly into Bozman.   We will be making 4 one night stops on the way to West Yellowstone.  Going to go about 180 mile per day.
