Update

It's hard to believe that it has been a month and a week since I last updated everyone.  We left Southern Palms after the Florida Good Sam Rally (Samboree) and moved the house to the RV Park at NAS Jacksonville.  We have been doing medical and dental appointments since we have been here.  This is a nice RV park, even though it is small with about 46 sites.  Even though it is for our own security, it is still a pain in the neck to have to show our ID'S to get into the gate.  At least we will be here near the kids for the holidays.  We will be heading to Rainbow Plantation in January in Summerdale, AL after this.  No real pictures to share at this time, maybe next time.

Y'all travel safe, and I'll type more later.

Rally's back to back

We left Grand Lakes RV & Golf Resort and headed to Thousand Trails Orlando for 21 days.  This was a very nice stop.  We decided to have Christmas with our kids while we were there.  We toured Animal Kingdom and Kennedy Space Center.  We felt that having time together was much more satisfactory that presents.  We left Thousand Trails and headed to Escapees Chapter 57 Rally at Blueberry Hill RV Resort in Bushnell, FL.  We try to make this rally every year as this is the Chapter that we belong to.  We really enjoyed our stay there.  Yesterday we left Bushnell and headed to Southern Palms RV Resort in Eustis, FL for the Florida Good Sam (Smaboree) Rally.  It does not start until next Wed, but we had to stay somewhere, so why not here.

when we leave here, we will head to NAS Jax in Jacksonville, FL for the holidays.  It will be good to get our doctors appts done and have some time with the kids.

Back in Florida

We left Edwardsville, IL on the 11th and started our trek south.  We drove to Clarksville, TN and stayed one night and then on to Forsythe, GA.  We stayed here one night and headed on to Grand Lakes RV & Golf Resort in Citra, FL.  We have been here several times before, and stayed in the same site we have stayed in for the past 8 years, 311 across from the rally club house.  We spent a week there so we could recooperate from the long drive down.  When we left Citra, we had a LONG drive to Thousand Trails Orlando in Clermont, FL.  Although this is an older TT park, it is still nice for about 3 weeks.  We will be here until the 9th of November, when we head to Blueberry Hill in Bushnell, FL for the Chapter 57 Escapee Rally.
Our kids came and visited on Wed night.  Thursday we got up and headed to Animal Kingdom at Disney.  We really enjoyed the day, and of course, I has been nice having the kids here with us.

It was interesting to see the "Tree of Life" with all it's intrigrate cavings.  We got to enjoy the Lion King show and the Finding Nemo, the musical  All in all, it was an enjoyable day.
Yesterday we went to Kennedy Space Center.  This was another enjoyable place and we went to all of the IMAX movies available and rode the shuttle simulator.  To say the least, I'm worn out.

Overall, this was a nice experience and I would recommend it to anyone.  Although Animal Kingdom was, what I would consider expensive, we really did have a nice time.  The Space Center was about one half the cost of Disney, and I think a better value for your money, but that's just me.
The kids will deepart for home tomorrow.  We will have a couple of more weeks at TT Orlando.  Monday we go to meet some friends for lunch, but other than that, no other plans, but to relax!

A lot has transpired since last update

Well, a lot has transpired since I last updated the blog.  We left Cleveland, GA and went to the North Carolina Good Sam Samboree.  We had a really good time.  It as at Tom Johnson's in Marion, NC.  We had never been there before, so it was a new experience for us.  We really enjoyed ourselves, even though it rained most of the time we were there.  When we left Marion, NC, we headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway RV Park.  This is a nice park, with level sites.  While we were there, we visited Hendrick Motorsports museum and the shops.  If you are in the area, and a NASCAR fan, this is a must see.

From here we drove to Myrtle Beach, SC for the South Carolina Good Sam Samboree.  This appeared to be an exciting event, however, we got a call from my mom's nursing home asking us to let the family know if they wanted to see her, they should come now.  We packed up and started our drive to Belleville, Illinois area at 1:15PM in the afternoon.  We went a way that would allow us to be on interstate most of the way so we could utilize the rest areas.  We drove to Agusta, GA the first night, which is when I got the call that Mom had passed away.  The next day we drove to Clarksville, TN and the following day to Red Barn RV Park in Edwardsville, IL.  We have been here since last Saturday.  We had mom's graveside service yesterday, and we will be headed south on Saturday.
We were also informed that this park we close for good on 1 November.  This is quite a shame as, although it is a small park, it is really quite nice.  I'm not sure where we'll stay should we get back to this area.

Well, that's about it.  You are all up to date.  Y'all travel safe, and I'll type more later.

The Start of September

We departed Millington, Tn and drove to the Tupelo, MS area.  We stayed a couple of nights at Natchez Trace RV Park.  It was a Passport America park, which was nice.  We rested up for a couple of days and toured the area.   Nothing to rave about, but the scenery was nice.

Next we drove from MS on to Talladega Creekside RV Park in Talladega, AL.  We enjoyed our short stay there.  This is only a 16 site RV Park, but nice and quiet.  The owners daughter had just had a baby, so they told us to make ourselves at home.  We found a nice site and settled in.  We would go back to this camp ground again if we are in the area.  We drove by the track and the Hall of Fame.

We drove from Talladega to Southern Trails RV Resort which is a RPI park.  Unfortunately, when we checked in, we found out that they do not take credit cards with RPI.  This is not normally a big deal, but we are usually prepared for these situations, but we had NO WARNING AT ALL,  we did notify RPI so they could put it on their web site so others would not be taken by surprise like we were.  We had rain for several days and they had had rain before we got there, so water was standing everywhere. This camp ground even had a church on the grounds.

After our 11 day stay at Southern Trails in Unadella, GA we drove the arduous 17 mile drive to the Georgia National Fair grounds in Perry, GA for the Georgia Good Sam Samboree (Rally).  It was really good to see so many friends from several different areas.  They had some really good entertainment and the usual vendors.  Camping World had a few rigs for sale.  They only had one 5th wheel and some small class C's and a couple of SMALL class A's.  Only one fair size diesel pusher, and it was Very used.  I still feel, if they are only bringing a few rigs to sell, they should allow more sales companies to participate. While we were there, we had the rig washed and gel coated and the truck washed.  They really needed it.

From the Georgia Samboree we headed to Cleveland, GA to visit with Debby's aunt.  We will be here for a week.  Yesterday we met up with Tom & Pat Grice, whom we have known for quite a few years from Good Sam's and The Tampa RV Super Show.  Today we went and visited with Debby's aunt who is 96 and is spry as can be, and really sharp.  Debby also got to visit with her cousin, her aunt's daughter who she hadn't seen in over 40 years.  Debby's aunt "cooked" by taking us out to Olive Garden.  We also found out that a friend of ours from Escapees is only about 80 miles from here, so tomorrow we are meeting them half way for a visit.  It should be fun.

From here we will head to the North Carolina Samboree at Tom Johnson Camping World in Marion, NC.  We will head up there on Sunday.  We expect to have A LOT of fun.  So far, my mom is hanging in there.  So no need to head back up there yet.
