Running out of time to have the coach fixed prior to our trip to Escapade next month.  The shop is waiting on the price of one part to finish the estimate and submit it to State Farm for approval.  I talked with our agents office and the gal told me that when we sell our house and move into our 5th wheel, that State Farm will NOT insure it.  As a former Auto Underwriter for them, I don't quite understand their logic, but I guess we will be looking to move ALL of our insurance to another company.  I knew all along that they would not cover the contents, but not covering the 5th wheel at all is new.  Oh well, so much for their loyalty to their customers.  Keep that in mind it you ever go to State Farm for coverage.  Will keep you updated.

I took the coach to General RV today to get an estimate.  I will find out how much after they price all the parts that will be required to repair it.  Going to start now looking for  some good old American Made tires!  I may keep one of the Chinese tires for the spare, but that's all.  I just wish Michelin made my load range in my size, but they don't.  Just paid for our mail forwarding service.  Starts 1 April.  I will keep you updated on our new address.

Be Safe Out There

Today we stopped and got tires in Bushnell, FL. before we headed home.  Although they were, once again,  tires made in China, I felt much more safe on the way home.  I truly believe the other tire on the passenger side was close to throwing its tread like the other one on that side did.  Any way, the trip home after we left the tire store was uneventful.
I was told by my daughter that she tried to leave a comment on one of my posts.  I have adjusted the settings so you  can leave posts now.  I did not know that it was limited before.  So have at it.

I will call tomorrow and set up an appointment to get an estimate on the damage on the coach.  It may not be as bad as I thought, but I'm sure it won't be cheap.  I am also going to see about getting the roof redone.

I found out that Camping World will not have any washer/dryer combos we wanted until sometime in May, possibly after Memorial Day.  I knew they would procrastinate in giving me an answer until they were out of stock, and I was correct.  We'll see if they still honor the price they agreed upon when they have some come in.

I ordered tires today to be installed tomorrow morning prior to our return home.  They are NOT what I wanted, but they are what is available.  We put our name on the list for a lease lot here at Sumter Oaks.  We are number 19 on the list.  Probably be several years before our name migrates to the top.  That is why we decided to put our name on the list.  This will be our home base when we get to the top of the list.  Should be at the house tomorrow afternoon.  Be safe everyone!

What a beautiful day it has been at Sumter Oaks RV park.  The park has dried up, and the sun has been shinning all day.  Going to try to go the The Drag Racing Museum tomorrow.  Should be interesting.  Heading home on Thursday.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

Today has been very wet, as in RAIN.  We have discovered some places that need work and will get those fixed as soon as possible.  Turned the claim in for the damage from the blown tire, so at least that is started.  Just got back from Escapees Chapter 57 social hour and has lots of fun and enjoyed the company.  I had sent an inquiry to a local tire company over the internet on Saturday, and still have not had a response.  Maybe I'll try to make it home on what we have on now where I know where I can get a decent deal on tires.  I'll let you all know how it goes.

I am going to try to upload a couple of pictures so you can see the damage a blown tire can make.  It was A LOT!

We still feel fortunate as it could have been MUCH worse than it is!

Started looking for new tires for the rig so we can get home Thursday.  Contacted Orange Tire to see if they can deliver and change here at the site.  No response yet, so I expect it will be Monday before they respond.  Having a good time, and if all else fails we will try to make it home with the tires we have.  I just don't trust them.  We'll be ok.  I think we are really going to enjoy this travel thing! :)

Chapter 57 Rally Trip

On Friday, 14 March, 2014 we headed out to Sumter Oaks Escapee RV Park for a Chapter 57 Rally.  We got just south of Hawthorne, FL when we had a blow out on the right rear of our 5th wheel.  Lots of damage from the wheel back.  Our Tire Minder didn't even alert us, even after Good Sam Emergency Road Service had a company come out and change the tire.  We then proceeded on to Sumter Oaks without any further incident.  Now we need tires.  So sometime this week we will see if anyone in the area will change tires here at the park as this is now our home.  It could have been Much worse, so we are thankful we were not hurt.  Looks to be a fun week.  Will catch up more later. :)
