First of the Year Update

Here it is, the day after Valentines Day, and I have not posted a new blog yet this year.  I guess the real reason is that there has been nothing new to talk about.  We did have new jacks installed by M&B Enterprises in Yuma, which we are REALLY happy with, and we did enjoy staying in Quartzsite with our friends Gary and Mary Olson and the Lucky 7's Tiffin RV Group.  We sure enjoyed being with them.  I also helped give tests for Ham radio with W5YI and ARRL group at Quarzsfest.  I'm happy to report that Gary passes his Tech test and is now KI5DDE.  That was exciting.

Mary made this banner for the "Lucky 7's"

This was the opening ceremonies for Quartzsfest

Over all we had a great time.  When we had the jacks replaced, it was due to the poor quality of the Atwood Level Legs that came with our 2008 Tiffin Phaeton.  We had 2 on the passenger side that just would not lift at all.  We selected "Big Foot" hydraulic jacks and we are really happy with them.  I thank Major for such a good job he did replacing them.

The facility at M&B Enterprises is amazing.  Major really put a lot of thought into designing his work space.

We discovered  a slide out problem on the bedroom slide.  The guide that keeps it raised and on track came out.  The screws that hold the guide in broke, so the slide is traveling on the block that the guide was screwed to and is about 2" lower than the other side.  We have been having issues with the slide out seal, but now this just makes it worse.  We took it to RV City in Huachuca City, AZ which is where we stayed before we went to Quarzsite and got a new toilet.  They are Tiffin authorized service providers, and they take our extended warranty.  we were Really surprised when they called Tiffin to get some details on the slide out when Tiffin told them to recommend going to a Tiffin dealer in Tucson, which is LaMesa.  LaMesa had garnered a VERY bad service reputation, so we thanked them and elected to have RV City continue with our issues.  Of course when we went to take the coach down to RV City to look at our slide out issue, the shade in the front of the coach would not come up.  We ended up tying it up and driving it down there.  They troubleshoot the shade and the motor has gone bad, so they also ordered a new motor for it.  We are happy with RV City so far, but time will tell.

We have been at the Pima County Fairgrounds since 29th of January and will head south to RV City in Huachuca City, AZ next Wed for the repairs to get started.  We will stay at Quail Ridge RV Resort until the 12th of March when we will come back up to Tucson to get ready to come into Escapade.  We go into Escapade on the 13th and get set up for Coffee and Donuts.  We are looking forward to having fun at Escapade.

I'll type more after we are done with Escapade.  Y'all travel safe and HAVE FUN!!
