September Update

We enjoyed our month volunteering at C.A.R.E.  This is an independent living facility for Escapee members who are ready to come off the road or just recooperate from a medical issue.  We volunteered there last September and decided to volunteer in August this year.  They have trouble getting volunteers in July, August and September due to the extream heat in Texas during those months.  If you are ever in the Livingston, TX area, take a tour of C.A.R.E. and if so moved, fill out the paperwork to become a volunteer.  They would want you to volunteer for at least one month.  While there, they had a Luau for the residents and we volunteers through a Moroccan night.  I think the residents enjoyed them both.

There have been changes in some of the residents since we were there last year.  Some have departed and new ones have arrived.  It was certainly an enjoyable month.  We plan on returning to volunteer again next year, probably on our way back to Florida.

We left C.A.R.E. on Tuesday, 4 September and have arrived at Midway COE RV Park in Waco, TX.  We will be staying here for a week and then continue heading to the Balloon Fiesta.

Travel Safe, and I'll type more later.
